Shadow Hills Elementary has been recognized as a 2025 California Distinguished School. This prestigious recognition highlights our school's commitment to excellence.

“Excellent elementary schools play a critical role in the life outcomes of our young people,” Superintendent Thurmond said, according to a news release from his office. “This year’s California Distinguished Schools celebration provides us with an opportunity to recognize the hard work of our elementary educators and school staff who help our students discover passions and experiences that will propel them.”

California Distinguished Schools are chosen based on data reported through the California School Dashboard, including test scores, chronic absenteeism, suspension rates, and socioeconomic data.

Shadow Hills Elementary’s recognition as a California PBIS Silver School underscores its dedication to creating a positive and inclusive school environment. By effectively implementing the PBIS framework, the school has demonstrated a commitment to teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors, fostering student success, and enhancing the overall school climate. This Silver-level distinction celebrates Shadow Hills Elementary’s efforts in building a supportive community where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to achieve their best.
